Life can be hard, can’t it? If life feels hard for you due to unexpected challenges, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or substance abuse issues, I can help you work through that.

I help ignite change in my clients by creating a nonjudgmental space to explore life experiences, aspirations, and hindrances to growth. My hope is to assist you to overcome negative thoughts and behaviors, develop active self-compassion, learn new skills, and process life’s challenges to lead to a more empowered sense of self. In our work together, I will help guide you in discovering your inherent strengths to disrupt unhealthy patterns and move towards a more intentional way of living.

I have worked with individuals ranging in age from pre-teenage years to older adults struggling with a multitude of issues. I also enjoy helping couples and families find ways to relate to one another that are more fulfilling. I believe every person, couple, and family have different and specific needs; therefore, I draw from a wide breadth of approaches.

As your therapist and advocate, it is my goal to assist in navigating through life’s daily challenges. Picture being in a world where you didn’t have to travel alone. A world where you can feel safe and without judgment. Although stressors are inevitable, imagine changing your cognitions in order to handle the worlds sometime unfair yet intrinsic problems. Remember, you have not reached an impasse.

I have a number of specialty areas which include: mood disorders, substance abuse, adolescents, offenders, self-esteem, anxiety and depression. I specialize in Cognitive Behavior Intervention and Solution Focused Therapy, which encourages one to challenge distorted cognitions and attitudes in order to live a more fulfilling life.

My passion to help those in need is the driving force behind my motivation. Here there is no judgment; only a listening ear with positive regard and empathy.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) with a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University.

Prior to receiving my master’s degree, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Since becoming an LPC, I have gained experience in working with individuals with addiction disorders and mental health concerns of all kinds. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, women’s issues, trauma, relationship struggles, and personal boundaries development.
I work with and empower my clients to find the elements needed to bring about personal growth, hope, realization, and self-discovery. I believe that counseling is an empowering experience, and by working together on creating change and growth within my clients is the most rewarding part of my work as a counselor.

Mental health is what I am most passionate about in life. What happens in our minds influences all that we do. My approach is always to walk right next to my clients and help them to lead themselves to a healthy space in a holistic and mindful way.

In my spare time, I like to get creative and paint, dance around the house with my son, and visit my home state of Louisiana.
